This was a fun look for our model Chelsea.  Soft pink flats!

This big project took two back-to-back, 16-hour days of shooting all over Los Angeles.  We put together about 13 different looks for six models.  This particular photo shoot was physically exhausting because the days were long and there were so many locations/models/style changes, but in the end it was totally worth it.  All the photos on the Tieks website are from the photo shoot, but that’s just a snippet of what we shot.  The rest of the photos will be used in future advertising campaigns and product catalogs for Tieks.

Her hair is cut with lots of layers and beautifully highlighted.  She has the perfect hair to show off this look.  I acheived the “flat waves” with ghd creation spray and the ghd IV styler.  I teach this technique in classes offered to salons that carry the line.  Everyday I look forward to creating fun and unique hair styles.   It keeps my excitement for styling alive.

My goals for 2010 include makin’ waves not only in hair but in the beauty world as well.  It’s the beginning of a new year and I have a lot of exciting stories to share with you so stay tuned!

Whenever I work out of town I like to visit new eateries, (educating makes me hungry), so on my way home from Simi Valley I decided to make a stop in Glendale to check out the much talked about Cuban-style bakery and cafe Porto’s.  I had a taste of the Pan Con Bistec and Sandwich Cubano with fried plantain chips and they were soooooo good.  Too full for dessert so I’ll have to try some next time.

Here are a few things I can’t live without:  a load of hair pins and my ghd stylers.  Also, a couple of photos we used for inspiration.

Here I am styling hair for the lovely Ximena Valero.  Born and raised in Mexico, she was influenced by her mother to study fashion.  Thank the heavens!  Her clothing is fabulooooouuuus!

Working an event like this was pretty awesome.  Hours of styling for 30 music-thumping-minutes on the runway…  totally worth it.
